Akila Sellami Baklouti got her PhD in linguistics from the University of Metz (France) and her ‎HDR from the University of Carthage (Tunisia). She is a Professor of English language and ‎linguistics at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of Sfax (Tunisia) and Director of the ‎Research laboratory Approaches to Discourse (LR13ES15). She lectures mainly on syntax, ‎semantics, systemic functional grammar, academic writing and research methodology. Her ‎research interests include systemic functional linguistics, contrastive language studies and ‎the syntax-semantics-discourse interface with a special focus on genre analysis.‎
